How do you get to know someone?
We could start with small talk; discuss the weather, chat about your dog, or mine. We could risk religion or politics but that's best doled out slowly over time. A common device for creatives is the third person bio. A thoroughly tested and proven method is to ask for three fun facts. But the very best way to get to know someone is through their stories. But you choose.

Small Talk

This is my dog, Snoopy. He is ten years old now but still looks like a puppy. We adopted him in 2019 from AWL after he was surrendered by his former owners. He had not had the best start in life and still displays signs of anxiety. But he has learned how to be a dog. Isn't the weather...
Religion & Politics
I'm one of those atheist lefties who believes humans have capacity to be effective custodians of this planet if only we had the integrity and empathy required for the job.

All Roads Lead to Bowie premiered at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2026. Written and performed by me and Jazz Fechner-Lante, it tells the story of how we accidentally changed our world. There are encore performances planned for the second half of 2026.
Adelaide has a variety of open mic events, each with its own particular vibe. I regularly read at Paroxysm's Spoke n' Slurred.
Facilitator
I host and facilitate events and workshops across Adelaide. As one of the Ellipsis Poetry partnership, and a volunteer with Spoken Word SA, I have my finger on the pulse of Adelaide's poetic heart.
And also...
